The Totnes Nappy Company is run by husband and wife Ali and Steve along with Nappy Advisor Kelley. Our chief nappy testers are Ali and Steve's new baby and Kelley's 16 month old son. The first testers, Ali and Steve's two older sons and Kelley's older daughter, are now out of nappies, having found us the best training pants on the market! We have tried out all the nappies we sell on our own and other people's children. We only stock what we would happily use on our own children.
We are very aware how bewildering the world of cloth nappies is when you first decide you want to use them. High street shops generally have an appallingly poor selection (although some are thankfully getting better) and the range on the internet is huge and varied. Then there is all the jargon - liners . . . inserts . . . Aplix . . .
This website has been designed to help first-time cloth users to better understand which nappy system is right for them. If you are new to it all, start with the links on the right of the home page. If you are local, then get in touch with us so that you can see all the nappies for yourself. If you are an experienced cloth nappy user and you know what you want then we have hopefully put in enough links straight to the products so that you can go straight there and find what you are looking for.

If you wish to visit to buy nappies or come for a nappy demo, directions will be provided by email or phone. Please contact us before visiting to avoid arriving when we are not there.
If you would like to collect your order from us please email after your order and we can arrange to leave it with the guys who work for Trading Edge Ltd in Unit 1. They are open 9am to 5pm, five days a week.

Email is by far the most reliable form of communication, allowing us to give your enquiry the time and attention it deserves. We check emails on a very regular basis and should reply at least within 24 hours.

We are not at the office full time due to having very young children (and of course also due to being out at demos, antenatal classes, the bank . . .etc) meaning that email is by far the most reliable method of contacting us. However if you would like to call and we are not there, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we can. We are sorry the phone is not manned more, but the reason we are nappy experts is because we have small children which is the same reason why answering and making phonecalls is difficult!
